Squeeze The Orange
Squeeze The Orange is a research and outreach project focused on biomaterials and the circular economy. Using food waste, we develop compostable bioplastics and generate knowledge through workshops, talks, and experimental projects applied to fashion, design, and environmental education.
The initiative is led by fashion designer and researcher Susana Jurado and creative strategist Elisenda Jaquemot. Together, they collaborate with local stakeholders, designers, and fabrication labs to create biodegradable pieces grounded in a local circular economy.
Our vision is to reimagine design as a regenerative practice that fosters local collaboration and reduces dependence on extractive raw materials. Through biocreation, we transform everyday waste into meaningful objects that tell a story about community, transformation, and responsibility.
